About Us
Gear Rack is a military surplus retailer. Operating out of Tampa, Florida, we source genuine issued military equipment from government surplus channels and large liquidation shipments, then unload, sort, inspect, and sell that gear directly from our warehouse. The focus is on real, original equipment from multiple eras and countries. We document the process across various social media platforms, showing the truckloads and the gear as it comes in.
Military surplus is used, damaged, or unissued gear that was originally manufactured for military use and later released for civilian sale. When units upgrade equipment, change camouflage patterns, or phase out inventory, remaining stock is declared surplus and moved out through government auctions and authorized channels. This gear was built to meet military specifications for durability, function, and consistency. It was designed for real field conditions, not retail shelves.
Gear Rack, founded by William Perez, began while studying entrepreneurship at the University of Tampa.
It began as a small business called BSR Militaria with a simple goal: find historic military artifacts and reconnect them with collectors and veterans.
The interest in militaria started at a young age after hearing stories from his grandfather’s time in the Army. Those stories sparked a fascination with military history and artifacts, which eventually led him into the collecting community.
While still in college, the operation began with buying, researching, and selling authentic military antiques while focusing on preserving the history behind each piece.
What started as a student-run project eventually grew into Gear Rack.
